Summary description

Inorganic Pharmacy is the branch of pharmacy that deals with inorganic compounds. Medicinally useful substances are derived from either organic or inorganic sources. Inorganic chemistry is the study of elements and their compounds; except carbon and its compounds which are studied under Organic chemistry. However, the distinction between the organic and inorganic are not absolute, and there is much overlap. This course mainly deals with the study of inorganic pharmaceuticals.

Specific learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students shall be able to:

- differentiate between different inorganic and organic compounds.

- understand the medicinal and pharmaceutical importance of inorganic compounds

- learn the  importance of inorganic pharmaceuticals in preventing and curing various diseases

- gather knowledge on synthesis, scientific and technical research on the developments of new drugs and the advances of manufacturing technology of drugs and intermediates.
