Course summary: To understand the various techniques in biotechnology & their applications in the manufacturing of bio pharmaceuticals and biomedical research.as pharmaceutical biotechnology is a relatively new & growing field in which the principles of biotechnology are applied to the development of drugs. A majority of therapeutic drugs in the current market are bio formulations such as antibiotics, nucleic acid and vaccines.

Rationale: In order to tackle the problems where medicine cannot currently provide adequate solutions, and also to improve the quality of life of people all over the world, pharmacist need to build a solid foundation on which embarking on careers in biotechnology.

Course Learning Outcomes: To overcome the limitations of conventional pharmaceutical products apply the knowledge of biotechnology in the development of new drugs and their delivery systems.
