PRE-STRESSED CONCRETE

Behavior of prestressed elements of reinforced concrete structures will be discussed in this course. At the end of the course, participant will be able to design prestressed beams, girders and piles. Prestressed concrete behave in different way than normal concrete, so it is require to have sound knowledge on stress distribution in a composite element which has been taught in mechanics of solid. Some of the fundamentals have been taught in the course CE 805.
