The main aim of the course is to enable the understanding of the mechanical response of the structure to the loads acting on it. This course involves the application of the principles of mechanics to solve real-time engineering problems. Despite the rapid increase in automatic structure analysis using computer programs, the role of "manual" calculations in building mechanics is still important. Such calculations allow not only for a better understanding of the problems occurring in the theory of construction, but also enable the initial estimation of the dimensions of structural elements.
