This course will cover the fundamental concepts of basic electronic circuits and key components. It will discuss the characteristics, mathematical modeling and representation and behavioral patterns of electronic devices. These basic ideas will form the core component of the course. The following concepts will be covered in this course: 1. History of electronics from vacuum tubes to large scale, classification of electronic signals, digital and analog, electronic components, symbols and identifications, analysis of semiconductors. 2. Diode circuits and characteristics, model and behavior in relation to the circuits and analysis. 3. Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJT), physical structure of the BJT, circuit representation, transistor biasing and transistor ratings. 4. MOSFET characteristics and model, biasing techniques, circuit symbol, analog MOSFET amplifier.
