Bio-electromechanical Engineering is an applied interdisciplinary science that intents to integrate biology, mechanics and electronics. Typically engineering regarding biological application involves knowledge and expertise from a number of pure and applied sciences. Hence, the utilization of principles of biology and the tools of engineering to create usable, tangible, economically-viable products. It advances the fundamental concepts, creates knowledge for the molecular to the organ systems levels, and develops innovative devices or processes for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, for patient rehabilitation, and for improving health. Moreover, engineers attempt to either mimic biological systems to create products or modify and control biological systems so that they can replace, augment, sustain, or predict chemical and mechanical processes.
