Criminology is an expanding discipline, which deals with crime and criminals. It primarily starts with the aetiology of crime. There is hardly any society that is not beset with the problem of crime and criminals. A society that has not encountered the problem of criminality is a myth.  Human society is controlled by values that are social, moral, religious, philosophical, and legal. Criminology has a wide jurisdiction that requires the discussion and understanding of all the major disciplines, as it discusses criminal activities and the darkest side of human behaviour, largely thought to be the combination of nature and nurture. Criminology embraces biology, psychology, sociology, economics, culture, ecology, and the surrounding environment of society to identify the causes of crime.
