Course Title: Technical and Scientific Writing

Course Code: HUM 206

The four main types of academic writing are descriptive, analytical, persuasive and critical. Each of these types of writing has specific language features and purposes. Technical and scientific writing course will provide emphasis on the production of professional documents, such as analytical reports, academic writing etc. and students will analyze typical rhetorical situations, recognize conventional styles of presentation, and learn how to tailor their writing to a variety of audiences. Students will study and practice the processes of written composition and the general principles of good communication, with the aim of becoming an efficient and effective writer and editor.
