This course aims to introduce the methods and underlying principles for the design and maintenance of the elements of highway and railway infrastructures. It starts with the discussion and geometric design of various types of highway pavements. The different types of distress and maintenance of pavements are tan discussed. It ends with a discussion of the general requirements of the railway and its maintenance.
