WASTE WATER ENGINEERING

The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the area of sanitation and wastewater treatment. The course will cover sanitation facilities; water supply and characteristics of wastewater; primary & secondary treatment processes; sludge disposal; and design of sewer system and wastewater treatment plants. The course will also be related with sewerage system, treatment of human waste and wastewater, microbiology of sewage. At the end of the course the students will have a working knowledge of the water and wastewater industry and have the skills to perform a preliminary design of a treatment plant.
