This course consists of Law of Torts. The part of this course aims to provide detailed knowledge and skills in the Law of Torts as might be relevant for a person engaged in the operation of a legal office, or associated fields in the public or corporate sectors. It also provides students with an understanding of the legal environment and compensation framework underpinning redress for damage or injury to one’s person, security or property in a common law system. It includes an exploration of the elements of a number of recognized torts including intentional torts; trespass to the person, land and goods and unintentional torts in particular negligence. The course will assist the students with the development of legal interviewing and legal problem-solving skills. Students will work in groups and engage in a legal firm simulation.
