Course info

This course explores the design, structure, and materials of automotive bodies through both theoretical frameworks and hands-on applications. It covers core concepts like load-bearing architectures (monocoque vs body-on-frame), material selection for weight reduction and strength, and design elements affecting aerodynamics, ergonomics, and vehicle aesthetics.
Students will analyze manufacturing techniques, passive safety systems, and the impact of sustainability-driven innovations such as smart materials and modular panels. Practical activities may include lab experiments, CAD modeling, and simulated crash analysis to reinforce real-world engineering challenges.
